Welcome

Welcome to St. William's

St. William's Anglo Indian High School, Royapettah, is a Presentation Convent school run by the Presentation Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Inspired by our Foundress, Venerable Nano Nagle, the Lady of the Lantern, we nurture young people who are academically accomplished, ethically grounded, compassionate and socially responsible, with a special focus on the education and empowerment of girls.

Faith and values

Rooted in the Gospel and the spirit of Nano Nagle, we form character as carefully as we teach subjects.

Our motto and values

Academic excellence

Our Std X students shine in the Board Examinations: the 2025–26 school topper scored 482 out of 500.

Leadership and service

Through four houses, clubs, Guides, JRC and community outreach, our students learn to lead by serving others.

250 Years of the Presentation Sisters

In 1775, Venerable Nano Nagle founded the Presentation Sisters in Cork, Ireland, opening schools for the poor at a time when the law forbade it. The Sisters arrived in India in 1842, and her lantern still lights our way. In 2025–26 the Williamites celebrated this Sestercentennial Jubilee with exhibitions, assemblies and acts of service.

By degrees and with the assistance of God, we may do a great deal.Venerable Nano Nagle
